Cleanroom and microelectronics industry

Customer testimonial: Michael Polak from Mituv, cleanroom equipment manufacturer

The cleanroom and microelectronics industry is highly susceptible to dust and dirt. The industry manufactures coin-size microprocessors containing millions of microscopic transformers, which can be damaged by the smallest speck of dust. That is why the "clean rooms," where these microprocessors are manufactured, and the employees' Gan Rooms must be kept sterile.

Furniture and other stainless steel components made by the leading manufactures of cleanroom equipment undergo electropolishing by Limat. This process continuously proves that electropolishing is the most effective metal-treatment procedure for this sensitive industry, keeping optimum cleanliness levels.

The electropolishing procedure performed by Limat guarantees the metals will remain easy to clean, thanks to their surfaces' perfect polish.

Mituv is a cleanroom equipment manufacturer which has been using Limat's electropolishing services for nearly two decades: "We have been working with Limat for almost 20 years," says Mituv's Michael Pollak.

"Together we have been able to meet clients' demands on cleanroom equipment and achieve a new industry standard. Today," he concluded, "Mituv and Limat supply cleanroom equipment to companies like Intel. Limat is able to meet the highest standards required by the industry to our clients' utmost satisfaction."

Food industry

Tiv Tirat Zvi

Project objectives: Tiv Tirat Zvi is one of Israel's oldest and most trusted meat processing factories. Dedicated to quality products, it is also one of the most advanced in the field. Tiv Tirat Zvi's smokettes, like those in other meat processing factories, amass grease and meat residues over time. Tiv Tirat Zvi's work surfaces must also undergo metal surface treatments in order to maintain a clean, sterile work environment – requirements which are of the greatest importance in the food industry.

Tiv Tirat Zvi's smokettes underwent metal surface treatments in Limat, which applied its electropolishing process to the small smokettes' rounded surfaces, rendering them easy to clean of any residue. Furthermore, all of Tiv Tirat Zvi's metal work surfaces have undergone electropolishing, in order to make their maintenance easier.

The result: the subject of hygiene is of particular importance in the food industry. Limat's electropolishing process allows Tiv Tirat Zvi's metal work surfaces and smokettes to meet the highest cleanliness standards, as required from the leading meat processing factory in Israel.

Water purification and irrigation systems

Atlantium

Project objectives: Atlantium, a pioneer in green water purification technologies has developed an interesting, new eco-friendly and low-energy water purification system. In order to maintain the purity of the water running through the system, Atlantium needed a solution against bacterial infection.

Atlantium entrusted its core processor to Limat's electropolishing process, in order to make sure its surface is smoothed to perfection. Limat's electropolishing process made sure all water passing through the stainless steel system would be as protected as possible against any kind of bacterial infection.

The result: Atlantium's water purification system, bolstered by Limat's electropolishing process, is gaining increasing success worldwide.

Architecture and Design

Tel Aviv Municipality

Project objectives: in 2007, the Tel Aviv Municipality launched an intersections' beautification project. The project called for 20 inche -high stainless steel posts to be stationed in various intersections across the city, in order to increase pedestrian safety and improve the appearance of the roads.

The City was looking for a way to maintain the posts, which – when exposed to the metropolitan's humid and salty air – would have rusted within days.

The Tel Aviv Municipality tasked Limat with finding the suitable electropolishing solution for the stainless steel posts. The posts currently stationed throughout the city have all undergone Limat's electropolishing process in order to improve their appearance, as well as boost their durability against harsh weather conditions.

The result: the stainless steel posts electropolished by Limat are rust-resistant and appear smoother and shinier. Their protective coat also makes them easier to maintain and clean.

Medicine

Endogen

project objectives: Endogun Medical Systems Ltd. develops innovative soft tissue attachment systems meant mainly for pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence repair in women.  The company began as a start-up and needed the perfect metal surface treatment for it products prior to production, in order to ensure its stainless steel components, as well as titanium ones, made to support a more significant weight, were smoothed and polished to perfection.

Limat was able to apply its electropolishing process to the delicate components, smoothing their surfaces and ensuring they remain corrosion-free. The advanced electropolishing process was able to strip Endogun's components from all residues, ensuring the best possible end result. Passivation of these delicate components was achieved within minutes.

The result: using Limat's advanced electropolishing process ensured Endogun was able to go ahead with production. The company entrusts Limat with applying the process – which results in sterile component, meeting the heights of standards –  to the most delicate components it manufactures.

Industrial design – automobile industry, kitchens, furniture and more

Tal&Hadas

Project objective: Tal and Hadas Ltd. designs, manufacturers and markets tubular accessories, side-steps and front and rear bumpers for the US SUV's and Pick-Up trucks' market.

In Europe, wintertime sees roads and highways covered in salt in order to clear and melt the snow piling up on them.  Salt, however, can cause products which are not sufficiently protected against its effects, to rust. Tal and Hadas needed a solution to maintain its products' sheen and integrity even in the toughest weather conditions.

The accessories manufactured by Tal and Hadas undergo Limat's electropolishing procedure, which ensures both objectives: the sheen achieved by the process adds to the products' elegance as well as affords them high resistance to corrosion and rust.

The result: Tal and Hadas products are proof of the increased durability electropolished products have against rust-conducive conditions. These vehicle accessories weather the roughest snow and salt exposure, thus trumping other products which, lacking the proper electropolishing, may succumb to rust.
